Wet n Wild Fergie Fall 2014 Limited Edition Fergie Beauty University Palette

So I recently got to know that Walgreens launches a signature palate every year at their stores. In 2014 they launched their Wet n Wild Fergie Limited Edition Fergie Kit, which i was lucky enough to get my hands on as soon as it launched. Ever since I got my hands on this beauty I have been addicted to it.

So this was initially selling for $30 at walgreen's but I got my hands on it from an online page for a mere Rs.2600 .. ! Which was the best thing to happen to me in a long while.

This kit is divided into 3 sections.
Left Section is the Glitter Cream Section with 29 choices
Right Section is the Lip Glosses with another 29 choices
Middle Section contains 72 Powder Eye shadows

It was difficult getting the top open. The entire box feels cheaply made and I was considered I was going to break it before I even managed to get it open…but it was it was rather difficult to open up the first time...
Then up further the palate opens up left and right to show the glitter creams and lip gloss palates.

Over all for the price tag it looks gorgeous for something you would want to keep on your dresser, but it does occupy a lot of space.

Coming up to the colors, pigmentation and practical use of the palate now.
I felt that the gray/black shadows had very little variance. Usually, when they are sitting in the pan right next to each other, you can see a color difference. But, I couldn’t and in the swatches, there’s none whatsoever…

I did random swatches and felt that most were fairly well pigmented, but most of them were super crumbly and it seemed like a lot of waste was being created. I swatched a few of the glitters and as with most Wet ‘n Wild cream shadows, or lip glosses if I were to use them for that, are practically impossible to apply…

After the shadow swatches, I did some gloss swatching. I found that all but a few were super sheer and these wouldn’t have put a lot of pigment on my lips. Several of them are colorless.

The most disappointing thing I ran across was that just after dabbing my lip brush twice into the glosses, I was hitting pan. So one, these pans didn’t have a lot of product and two, the glosses were so runny that I knew they wouldn’t stay on my lips but for only a short time before migrating either completely off my lips or, on my face around my mouth…
But apart from that I really like few of the colors and for the price that it comes with I dont mind the few disappointments. Over all I still say its great value for money. The thing i love the most in the palate are the Glitter creams that come in it.

-Sleek's Party Makeup Gift Box-

Sleek has always been one of my go to brands, its affordable with a touch of luxury. Plus I love the elegant black packaging. When I came across the Sleek Make-up party gift set I just had to get my hands on it. I got my box for Rs.5,700 from an online makeup store on face book called Star Makeup. I just had to get it since the box is worth a lot more than this.
It was available for pre order and I must add that I am super happy with the service and pricing of this page. I've seen prices for it go up to 11,000 on some pages.

-Product Contents-
All of your party essentials in one chic box! This collection of exclusive new launches and limited edition favorites will see you through the party season in style. Just to give an idea iv mentioned the individual product prices which I scanned from different online stores.
The gift set contains:
* Sleeks Precious Metals Highlighting Palette (Rs,2000 to 2500)
* I-Divine Storm Palette (Rs.1500-2000)
*Blush by 3- Pink Lemonade (Rs.1700-2000)
*Gloss me – Hawaii Honey (Rs.1000-1200)
*Full Fat Lash Mascara (Rs.1000-1500)
*Brow Kit – Dark (Rs.1300-1500)
*Eye & Cheek Palate – See You At Midnight (Rs.2500-2700)

So if you total it the original cost of the box would have been somewhere near Rs.11,000-13,400 depending on what prices the pages offer.

-My Experience-

*I- Divine Storm Palette

Ok so the first thing in the box I got my hands on was the eye shadow palate  This is a very beautiful mix of mattes and shimmersThe pigmentation of some colors is not awesome but for the price it’s a good deal. This is a great palate for travelling and it comes with a really large good quality mirror. The only down set for me in this was the applicator which was a sponge tip.

*Precious Metals Highlighting Palette
This is a very gorgeous highlighter quad it includes 3 cream and one powder highlighter. The packaging is a gorgeous dull gold; It comes with a mirror and small brush. The mirror I love but the brush for me is unusable, it isn't worth keeping  its very rough and doesn't work well with applying any of the highlighters.

The cream highlighters are very smooth and pigmented but I’m not much of a fan of cream products, especially because my base is usually powder. However if you do apply cream highlighter you will love them they are quite thick and creamy even when applied over my powder foundation they don’t tend to disturb it much. I love using the cream formulas for highlighting my eyes it looks lovey. The one I love out of the 4 is the powder highlighter it blends inn with my makeup and gives a very natural finish. If the quad had 2 creams and 2 powders that would work much better if you ask me.

 *Blush by 3- Pink Lemonade

This trio contains 3 really lovely colored blushes, 2 powders and 1 cream in the middle. They are perfect for light skin tones since the shades are pretty light but they are very pigmented even for darker skin.
The cream blush is highly pigmented and when applying you don’t need much of the product.
The favorite out of the 3 for me is the peach powder blush which looks lovely on my skin tone.

*Eye & Cheek – See You At Midnight

This is the go to palate when you want something small and compact to take along with you. It comes with 4 eye shadows and 2 blushes. I find the palate very dark for me and won’t be using it much. I love the blushes in it though. In fact I think I love all the blushes that sleek has to offer. But then again the brushes that come with it are totally useless.
*Brow Kit- Dark:
Iv always been on the lookout for a decent brow kit, but most of the stores had it out of stock. It has one wax formula and one cream and comes with tiny brushes and tweezers. I love the formula and pigmentation.
The brushes in this case are very good and I would use these with the cream and powder duo when travelling.

*Full Fat Lash Mascara. I am not a big fan of mascaras, but I must say Im in love with it. The shape of the mascara wand is unique to any mascara that I own. The ball point allows you to apply the mascara easily, focusing at the tip.
Gloss me – Hawaii Honey
Now this was the thing I was most unsure about. But the lipgloss I actually very sheer with a touch of soft shimmer. It feels great after application, and gives a very subtle watery effect. Its personally my favorite gloss up till now.

Which Concealer Do You Need ?

WHICH TYPE OF CONCEALER?
Lets be honest not many of us have flawless skin. Most of us have imperfections fear not! We can hide them, well make them less obvious! All you need is a concealer! So when you have a blemish or spot you will now know which concealer will cover it best. We all know someone who has used a concealer on a spot and its exaggerated it making it look crusty and nasty. Which type is best for my needs I hear you cry! Well read carefully as I'm going to go through the different types of concealer and what they are best at concealing.

Cover sticks
These are best used to hide minor imperfections such as tiny spots or a bit of darkness under the eyes. They come in loads of different colours to match your skin tone. They can be water based or oil based.

Medicated sticks

These contain antiseptics and drying agents which help speed up the healing times of spots. These are best for minor spots. Never use on a open spot. Trust me it doesn't look good and it stings Lol.

Liquid concealers.
Liquid concealers are better for the more mature skins. Using other concealers such as cover stick and cream concealers will make wrinkles and creases look worse as it can get clogged in the lines giving a cakey uneven look.

Cream concealers or camouflage concealers.
These are a creamy thick consistency which completely covers all flaws and blemishes. You can use it cover most blemishes including pigmentation marks, red marks such as birthmarks and dark circles. Also covers really well. These come in a variety of shades that can be blended to match your skin.

Correcting colour concealers
Pigmentation creams can be used to help correct your natural skin tone. When using a colour corrector, only apply to the skin where needed. apply your foundation over the top. When applying use a tapping action to prevent the corrector cream smudging. This will ensure you get the most natural flawless look.

Green is used to counteract redness.
Lilac and Pink brightens a yellowish complexion.

Peach is used to conceal blue veins and pigmentation.

NARS Orgasam

Although really popular within the beauty world, it still has its fair share of critics. Nars is known for making extremely pigmented products and has produced some of the most popular blushers around. Yet Nars Orgasm has us all divided.

Like the rest of the Nars blushers this is very pigmented. Although it will set you back RS.3200 for a full size compact. Due to the pigmentation you do only need the smallest amount. Meaning one compact does last you along time. The colour does last a really long time on the skin so you wont need to reapply all day unless you plan on going out after work. The colour maybe abit scary in the pan but it is very forgiving and workable.

The colour is described as a warm peachy pink. I would definitely say it appears more coraly/peachy to me this is probably because it has a real warm tone to it! This is where people differ on there opinions of Nars some think the warmness makes it appear to orangey. In the pan it looks more orange than on the skin but I think it's because of the amount of gold undertones present. When on my skin it doesn't appear orangey to me. Although it is alot warmer than blushes I normally wear!Another reason alot of people dislike Orgasm is the amount of Golden shimmer present in the blush. There is no denying it if you don't like shimmery blushers this is not for you. The finish on the blush has a really strong sheen to it. I personally like the golden sheen once on my cheek, it gives a pretty highlighted look to the blusher.

Do you have Nars Orgasm? Which of the Nars blushers have you tired? Which are your favorite blusher shade?

Lots of Love,

xoxo

-POREfessional By Benefit-

So I had heard so much about this primer by Benefit and being the huge benefit fan I could not keep my hands off it.
I'v been using this for about 2 months now. Now Benefit is not a cheap brand and it makes this huge hole  in the pocket every time I think of getting a product from them.
The best part that makes it easy for people to decide before making an investment are the deluxe sizes that Benefit has, Which are also quite steep for the price but then again The finer things in life don't come cheap.

I first got my travel size POREfessional which is a tiny 7 ml tube for PKR 800 from Bells which is an online page. Now iv ordered a Full size which is PKR 3650 (heavy breathing) for a 22ml Tube. A little goes a long way for this product so its worth the investment.

-Product Description-
Quickly minimize the appearance of pores & fine lines for smoother-than-smooth skin! Apply this silky, lightweight balm alone, under or over makeup. Translucent, oil-free formula complements all skin tones and helps makeup stay put. Contains a Vitamin E derivative, known to protect skin from free radicals.

-My Experience-
I don't have huge pores, but it still did make a difference, Helped my Hello Flawless Foundation stay on for longer for sure.Even after 3 hours out in the sun it stayed on my face, and about 5-6 hours in the evening.

As for pores IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE off course it wont magically make them disappear but it does kick them back to a certain extent. With the rest of makeup on top the pores disappear even more.
The application is quite amusing for me Needs a really small amount, all I did was blend and dabbed till it felt powdery. It feels lightweight so its perfect for the summers. I would suggest applying it over moisturizer since it tends to dry out skin.
Drawback:
It dries out skin massively, I have normal skin and it left patches of dry rugged skin on the places I applied. At first the results may seem amazing but the dryness that follows is a big turn off, so its not a primer for everyday use I use it occasionally and I'm quite happy.

-The Goods-
Hides Pores
Helps foundation last longer
Lightweight
Easy application
Travel friendl

-The Bads-
Pricey
Dries out skin
No oil control
Does not work on fine lines

-Overall-
Overall I love this product for special occasions. Its a repurchase for me for sure...

After 3 hours in the sun my makeup still looked fresh :D

-NYX Glitter Cream Palette-

Glittery eyes are the most talked about look everywhere now. With so many loose pigments by almost every brand we have thousands of options available to us from low end to high end. But the one thing I dread when it comes to glitter application is the hassle of applying it. The glue, the loose pigments, setting them, the fallouts all these things have kept me far faraway from glittery looks. But NYX comes to save with their line of Glitter Cream Palates.

They launched 12 sets and each set has 5 glittery colors in it. So we have plenty of options to choose from. So ever since I heard about them I had to get my hands on it.
They are available online with the price ranging from PKR 1200-PKR 1500.
I got mine as a gift from a friend after being unsuccessful at finding them at a lot of places.
Now this product has been criticized for being awful by almost everyone who I asked about it, but the glitters got the best of me and I still wanted to make it work.

-Product Description-
NYX Glitter Cream Palette is a Multipurpose gel-based glitter combination in a pallet. NYX Glitter Cream Palette comes with 5 shades of glitter, 2 applicators with 3 sponge tips and 1 brush tip. Apply to eyes, lips and face - anywhere you want that sparkling effect!

-My Experience-
The first look at the palate was amazing. I opened it and swatched it the moment I got them.
The swatches were a disappointment, I expected the glitter to be fine and smooth but instead it was chunky and the pigmentation was really off. Its like glitter mixed in Vaseline.
Once you get past the initial 'WOW GLITTER' stage, underneath is a mix of a Vaseline-like substance with glitter here and there. I can't really describe what the effect was like but it wasn't pretty; my eyes looked a complete mess. I tried and tried to work with it but it seems you get more Vaseline than you do actual glitter. Its pretty greasy for eye shadow so it also creases very easily, about 2-3 hours.

How To Make It Work ?
I'll be honest, I was a little confused as to what I should use to apply the shadow - I played about with the applicators the palette came with, but ended up using my fingers in the end as it seemed to make the shadow apply a bit smoother.
The thing I noticed is that it works better if you apply it after putting on some eye shadow of the same color since the pigmentation is very poor the eye shadow base will give it more support. Even after that you would need at least 2-3 layers to get a good payoff.
Another thing I can use this palette as a base for loose glitters, you sandwich this after your eye shadow and before the actual glitters.
-The Good's-
Huge variety of colors
Affordable
Multi Purpose

-The Bad's-
Creases fast
Primer needed before application
Bad Pigmentation
Colors are good only if used over an eye shade
Glitters are not very fine. Chunky pieces of glitter.
Doesn't blend out well

-Overall-
Overall I would not advice you to spend on this palate at all. Unless you plan to use it as a glitter base or if you have the patience to build up the pigmentation.
Since I love the white and golden color here i will try and work my way around it with a few other techniques and keep you ladies posted !!
